Christian spring flowers

‘Look at the Lilies and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are’ Luke 12:27

I love flowers and never really have thought about the symbolism or how the can be incorporated into our christian journey, while I admit flowers wont get me into heaven they help me see more of God in our Spring and when you see more of God you will feel him in your life more. Take time to slow down and see the beauty on earth.

Spring Flowers

Daffodil: The traditional Spring flower, as this arrives so does the good news of sunnier weather and Jesus’ resurrections.

Tulip: The first flowers to bloom in early spring after a harsh cold winter, to me represents rebirth and resurrection.

Hyacinth: I desire a garden full of these as I desire heaven, this represents the peace and faithfulness found in God’s kingdom

Anemone: In Greek mythology this represents sorrow and even death, the reason some paint it on Jesus’s cross to symbolise his blood.

Carnation: According to legend carnations grew from Mary’s tears as Jesus carries the cross. A great representation of motherly love

Daisy: ‘Innocence of a child’ this flower is often painted with Christ as a child to symbolise his purity

White Lily: The ‘Easter Lily’ for Jesus or the ‘Madonna Lily’ this symbol of purity id often depicted in painting of the Annunciations.

Ivy: This greenery is in year-round, it can be found in every season in nearly every forest a remind of eternal life and how God is always with us.

A short but sweet post, it’s usually the smaller things in life that remind me of how big God is. He created nature all we can do is be kind to it and admire it.

What’s some of your favourite spring flowers, I hope this month of May you bloom just as beautifully as nature is, even in raining weather.

God bless you all!
