Day 106: Psalm 56,120,140,142

                            Fav verse:

‘My enemies will retreat when I call to you for help. This I know: God is on my side’ 56:9

                            Reflection:

God is our saviour you will notice in these Psalms that it speaks of the troubles and evil of the world and those battling against it, but it also shows that even in their worries and fear they seek to be rescued by God and him alone, they have faith that they will be saved, not by other people or even themselves, but by God. They call out to him and he answers. David even notes in Psalm 141 that he prays constantly, that he cries out to God for help. And we know from his story so far that God has always answered him. God is on his throne forever he will always be our saviour in times of need.

Day 107: 1Sam 25-27

                           Fav verse:

‘..Your life is safe in the care of the Lord your God, secure in his treasure pouch!’ 25:29

                           Reflection:

Good things come to those who trust in the Lord. Abigail trusted that facing and reasoning with the future king would work in her favour because she knew that God was present I’m her life like he was for David. It will be her courage brought on by her faith that would allow David to think highly of her and end up marrying her. And David when presented again with the opportunity to kill king Saul trusted that God will be Just. He evn trusted Gods direction to live in the land of the philistines; their enemy. Because he knew Gods strength. Trust not in your own words or feeling, but in gods. He will keep all his promises.

Day 108: Psalm 17,35,54,63

                           Fav verse:

‘For you have rescued me from my troubles and helped me to triumph over my enemies’ 54:7

 Reflection:

God is our strongest supporter; He is our lives foundation. There will be times when we feel like we are drowning in life struggles and cannot catch a break, when the ground underneath our feet starts to crack and we feel unstable. Seek and call out to your greatest support – God. He is our heavenly father and he loves us. His position in our life is secure, He cannot be shaken. He is the same father were relied on yesterday to bring us to today. And the same one we can rely on to carry us through today to tomorrow. Cause his unfailing love is better than anything the world has to offer.

Day 109: 1Sam 28-31

                          Fav verse:

‘..He has kept us safe and helped us to defeat the band of raiders that attacked us.’ 30:23

                          Reflection:

Our hope truly relies on the LORD. The difference between David’s fight in chapter 32 to Sauls in 31, shows just how much we need to rely on God. David seeked God in all that he did and God was able to protect and rescue his family while Saul, who had a bad habit of buckling under the pressures of the world, such as in 1Sam 15:24. Where it showed how Saul was more afraid of his soldiers than he was of disobeying God and in the end he lost three of his sons and was wounded so badly that his only way out was to fall on his own sword. Learn and be like David. Know that when you obey God there is nothing to fear, as we know the power of our father in heaven.

Day 110: Psalm 120,123-25,128-30

                          Fav verse:

‘Those who trust in the Lord are as secure as Mount Zion; they will not be defeated but will endure forever.’ 125:1

                           Reflection:

I know days can be hard some of the Psalms speak of their troubles but all of them speak and God’s mercy and love and how he comes to help us. Salvation was given to us by God grace and Jesus sacrifice. He has watched over us and gave us forgivnesd from our sins time and time again, this may be hard to remember in times of worry. But God keeps us from harm and will protect us from any we are going through. He has done that for centuries and he can do that for all of our life too. With God, we can not be defeated.

Day 111: 2Sam 1-4

                             Fav verse:

‘May the Lord be loyal to you in return and reward you with his unfailing love!’ 2:6

                             Reflection:

One of the greatest ways we can show love to God is by trying our hardest to represent his character. David in 1-4 was a great example from mourning those who tried to kill him like Saul and accepting the innocence of those like Sauls son and did not want him dead. He even fasted and holded a burial for Abner. Who was at one point the commander of his enemy’s army. David gave love and grace to all of them in life-and-death like God does to us. David never took vengeance into his own hands and seeked and called upon God in all that he was to do. God wants us to forgive and leave any of our worries to him. So that the love God promised can become our reality.

Day 112: Psalm 6,8-10,14,16,19,21

                                  verse:

‘For the king trusts in the LORD. The unfailing love of the Most High will keep him from stumbling.’ 21:7

                              Reflection:

God’s blessings for us are unimaginable. His dreams for us are bigger than anything we can dream up because God is a giver. Even without us asking, David never would have thought that he would ever be king and never asked for it, but he was Israels King and is one of the most memorable ones. All of this was because of two things; God’s unfailing love for his children and david’s trust and faith. God didn’t choose david because of how well he could work but because of how much he trusted in the LORD and would obey his commands.
