Day 134: PS 32,51,86,122
Fav verse:
‘Protect me, for I am devoted to you. Save me for I serve you and trust you, you are my God.’ 86:2
Reflection:
There will be times when it appears that God is not with you but in these times you must remember his promises that he has fulfilled and you must remember that you are his treasured possession and he will not see live in despair. He knows that the world can be hard to us but comfort in the hope that he is your heavenly father and your true home, heaven, is waiting for you and the LORD will watch over you and your safety until the time is ready for you to join him again. No sin, no harm or trouble this world creates is too big for God to save you from.
Day 135: 2Sam 13-15
Fav verse:
‘Don’t be afraid. I’m the one who has given the command. Take courage and do it.’ 13:28
Reflection:
Take courage and do Gods will. Now finding Gods will can be hard and even harder is having the confidence to do it. I’ve been seeing a lot of entrepreneurial Christians on my social media and I am glad that they have found their calling and God has blessed them in it, bu do not worry if you don’t feel the same calling. God has many uses for his children, maybe you work a 9-5 and God wants you to spread his love amongst your office, maybe he has called you to be a stay at home spouse or parent and represent him and his ideals on family. The main thing is that in all that uncertainty and fear that you are not doing enough for Gods kingdom or the opinions from others will speak kindly to your mission, take note that God is the one who has called you and he will not give you a task to do and then not see you do well in it. So when your courage starts to dim, fall back on God and he will renew your strength.
Day 136: Ps 3,4,12,13,28,55
Fav verse:
‘You have given me greater joy than those who have abundant harvest of grain and new wine.’ 4:7
Reflection:
God himself and all that comes with him is the greatest blessing we have received. It it due to his love for us that Jesus came down to sacrifice himself so that through him we will never be separated from God after death. This is why your faith should should be built on your love for God not on your love for his blessings. True peace and happiness comes from him not of this world that is why he asks us to deny our flesh so we can strengthen our spirits, we are just lucky that God is gracious and will not see us go without on earth too.
Day 137: 2Sam 16-18
Fav verse:
17: 27-29
Reflection:
Caring for others may seem to be a burden when you view it from a worldly perspective but God uses every situation and the people in it to further his kingdom in different ways. When forced out of his throne and his people turning from him, King David and his household were left wondering without support. But by Gods grace when they arrived at Mahanaim he for the first time since dethronement was greeted warmly and cared for, and what to today standards may have seem like a small thing to give such as pots and mats, would lead to greater success for the givers family as his son would then be given the chance to serve in the Kings court. When we reach out in help, you become a representation of Gods kindness and love and will be rewarded for it.
Day 138: Ps 26,40,56,61,62,64
Fav verse:
‘He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken.’ 62:6
Reflection:
When we build our lives on anything other than God, our rock and our salvation, we build our lives on something that can be shaken by this world. When we live in Gods way, even the strongest storm can’t blow our faith away. So wait patiently and have trust in God and his timing, build your faith on God who is strong and stable so that no matter how much your life gets shaken up and no matter how long your trust will not crumble.
Day 139: 2Sam 19-21
Fav verse:
“Give him all of it”, Mephibosheth said. I am content just having you safely back again, my LORD the King.’ 19:30
Reflection:
Anchor yourself in God. When you realise that all peace and joy on this earth can be found in God alone, resisting sin and being able to honour God in all that you do becomes easier. We live in a fast pace, high price world where success and happiness is dependent on how much money you make and how good you can get your socials to look. But God calls his children to be different, he says to enjoy what you have and that wanting to be wealthy is not in itself is a sin, but making it the centre of your world is, that is idolising. As in the end it is not our socials or our wealth that saves us but the grace of Jesus Christ being content with God should be our focus and aim and the LORD will provide everything else we need.
Day 140: Ps 5,38,41,42
verse:
‘Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again-my saviour and my God!’ 42:5-6
Reflection:
God knows every emotion we feel before we even feel it. This life is filled with a rainbow of emotions, there will be days when we can’t find joy and we don’t understand why, and other days we will filled with it. But God is here for us always. We thanks to Jesus have access to him anytime we wish, and we can be real with him on where we are in our journey. Our hearts will be filled with Gods presence when we seek him, and he will give us hope and peace because of our faith in him. Don’t ever feel guilty for how you feel, God created all of our emotions and he can turn any of them into joy.
