Day 022: 30-31
Fav verse:
“But he has cheated me, changing my wages ten times. But God has not allowed him to do me any harm” -31-7
Reflection:
We will face trials in life and deal with people who are not just in their ways. But God is our mighty protector and he will not see us harmed for long. Jacob was in a situation where he was not treated fair but he was never abused. God then took that unfairness and made him extremely wealthy and even when pursued God watched over him and saved him.
Day 023: Gen 32-34
Fav verse:
“This left Jacob all alone in the camp, and a man came and wrestled with him until dawn began to break” – 32:24
Reflection:
God is always with you no matter what you are fighting you can overcome it. Too often we give up on God’s will for us because it takes too long or is too hard. But remember that whatever God has instore for you is worth it. In the end Jacobs ability to keep fighting got him blessed and became a father to a whole nation.
Day 024:Gen 35-37
Fav verse:
“We are now going to Bethel, where I will build an altar to the God who answered my prayers when I was in distress. He has always been with me” -35:3
Reflection:
Go has been with us since our beginning of life. He has seen all your mistakes and sins, and yet time and time again it is mentioned in his word that he is with us. God is truly the only one who can bring you comfort and peace because he has seen your suffering and still wants you to be his child. Call to him in obedience and he will answer.
Day 025: 38-40
Fav verse:
“The LORD was with Joseph, so he succeeded in everything he did as he served in the home of his Egyptian master”-39:2
Reflection:
God sees everything clearly including your hard work in trailing times. He wants you to be successful. Joseph wasn’t the master of the household he was just a servant but God still was with him and knew he could become more. Do not fear that you are not worthy of God’s love, he does not care about your job title when it comes to having a relationship with him.
Day 026:Gen 41-42
Fav verse:
‘Pharaoh said to Joseph “I hereby put you in charge of the entire land of Egypt’-41:4
Reflection:
God will divinely intervene in your circumstances but on his timing. Joseph had to spend years in prison before finally experiencing his higher purpose. God’s will cannot be altered by the injustice of the world. What may have seemed like Joseph’s life falling apart was just him falling into God’s perfect plan. Increase your faith you will be where God needs you to be not where you want to be.
Day 027:Gen 43-45
Fav verse:
‘God has sent me ahead of you to keep you and your families alive and to preserve many survivors’-45:7
Reflection:
Joseph could have given up when his brother hurt him by selling him into slavery. But he realised that they could not write and direct his life story. It is not until God’s plan is complete that we see that even in our moments of hurt and failure he can use everything for our good and his glory. Hold onto hope because the best of God’s power will always be yet to come.
Day 028: Gen 46-47
Fav verse:
‘Meanwhile the people of Israel settled in the region of Goshen in Egypt. There they acquired property, and they were fruitful, and their population grew rapidly’-47:27
Reflection:
Another example of God fulfilling his promise. While it arrived on God’s timing it didn’t arrive without sacrifices and trials but in the end Joseph remained faithful and trusted God and his family and wealth expanded rapidly. Even when this world intends to harm you, remember God will always intend it all for good. With him we can walk triumphantly in the end.
