Day 036:Exo 19-21
Fav verse:
‘But I lavish unfailing love for a thousand generations on those who love me and obey my commands.’- 20:6
Reflection:
Loving God and obeying his commands go hand in hand, all of God’s commands are out of love and respect and Jesus mentioned that to obey all of God’s commands, comes down to just loving him and loving people. It is easy to give love to those who benefit us but would you still love God if he gave you no blessing and can you still love those who you don’t know.
Day 037: Exo 22-24
Fav verse:
‘You must not follow the crowd in doing wrong. When you are called to testify in a dispute, do not be swayed by the crowd to twist justice’- 23:2
Reflection:
It is hard not to be pressured into following mainstream ways and that’s why God calls you to speak to him first. Our heart is deceiving and easily sins and God knows that, he doesn’t judge us he wants to help us. By reading his word, I have found the confidence to walk the path of godliness even if I have to do it alone. I sway sometimes and you may too but know this community, God’s community will welcome you back onto our path.
Day 038: Exo 25-27
Fav verse:
‘The altar must be hollow, made from planks. Build it just as it was shown on the mountain’- 27:8
Reflection:
These few chapters may seem long and full of details you don’t really care about, but they were important enough to be included into the Bible. God cares about the little details of our lives just like he did with the details of the Tabernacle. He does not miss anything when it comes to us, rest knowing that God will take care of everything even the small things we may forget.
Day 039: Exo 28-29
Fav verse:
‘This will be a continual reminder that he represents the people when he comes before the Lord’-28:29
Reflection:
Who do you represent when you come before the Lord? Are you coming to him as his heavenly child, a beggar or even a sinner? Your relationship with the world and God matters when you speak to him, it’s fine to come to God with need of being helped but not if you only come to the Lord when you need help. Come to him to get to know him and not to just get something from him.
Day 040: Exo 30-32
Fav verse:
‘How quickly they have turned away from the way I commanded them to live!’-32:8
Reflection:
We all have a moment when we feel impatient with people or our situation. But it’s what you do in those moments that shows if your heart reflects God’s ways, His timing is always perfect but we may not understand why and it’s that that causes us to compromise on God’s plan and our relationship with him. From experience I can tell you that you will never regret waiting on God.
Day 041: Exo 33-35
Fav verse:
‘You must not worship no other God, for the LORD, whose very name is jealous, is a God who is jealous about his relationship with you’- 34:14
Reflection:
It may be hard to have only God in your heart when you feel like you cannot see or hear him, and without him it will be hard to be satisfied with anything we love more than him. So ask God to help you see what you have put before him and know that with him you will find renewed joy and peace when you know he is bigger than anything else in our life.
Day 042: Exo 36-38
Fav verse:
‘Their contributions were more than enough to complete the whole project’- 36:7
Reflection:
Having friends and a community that is also working for God’s glory can be one of the greatest gifts he blesses you with. If you feel that you are missing a piece from your walk with Christ, it might not be that you have lost it or just do not have it, it might just be that you have yet to find it. Ask God for discernment to know what friends and Church will help you feel complete in your relationships.
Your reflections:
What has been a verse this week that you felt was a personal message from God for your life?
What have you learnt about God that you could bring into next week’s reflections?
