Day 050: Lev 19-21
Fav verse:
‘Keep all my decrees by putting them into practice, for I am the LORD who makes you holy.’ – 20:7
Reflection:
Being obedient is as much about knowing God’s decrees as it is acting on God’s decrees. Your actions should be as much a representation of Christ as your words, what good is knowing verses on loving your neighbour if you have never done it. Jesus never just spoke on his ability to heal, he did heal. Your personal conduct should match the LORD’S holiness you are his child.
Day 051: Lev 22-23
Fav verse:
‘It is the LORD’S sabbath day, and it must be observed wherever you live.’- 23:3
Reflection:
Rest gives time to look back over the hard work and see what has been achieved. When you take the sabbath day, spend some time at church, in your home or even on a walk and look over your week, spot the times God’s hand was at play in your life and give thanks. He is always working for our good. The least we can do is spend a day recognising our heavenly father.
Day 052: Lev 24-25
Fav verse:
‘Show your fear of God by not taking advantage of each other. I am the LORD your God.’-
Reflection:
Fear in this term more represents the word respect. And these chapters are great examples of God setting out laws that help us respect others. He wants all his children to be safe and loved until we join him in his home. He made a section just for the poor and enslaved to make sure they were treated right. To care about others is in God’s nature and we should try and spend our time on this earth being an example of his character.
Day 053: Lev 26-27
Fav verse:
‘I will walk among you; I will be your God and you will be my people’- 26:12
Reflection:
Blessing for obedience in chapter 26 is my favourite section of the bible. It is the greatest words I have read and a prime example of why the hard work for God will always be worth it. He keeps his promises and a beautiful life is ours. Our heavenly father is with us and he wants our life to be a great example of his glory and his glory is magnificent. If there is one chapter you need to know in your life please dedicate some time to reading Leviticus 26.
Day 054: Num 1-2
Fav verse:
‘So the people of Israel did everything as the LORD had commanded.’- 2:34
Reflection:
Numbers, especially the beginning chapters, may be hard to read through. But they always are a great example of the awe we should have for God. The record for just adult men in Israel at that time without anyone else was 603,550 and he saved all of them. Any time you think your obedience to God is not worth the fight, remember how many people he saved from slavery and provided for in the wild. Nothing you are going through will be too much to handle. Living for him will always be worth it.
Day 055: Num 3-4
Fav verse:
‘As the LORD has commanded through Moses, each man was assigned his task and told what to carry.’- 4:48
Reflection:
As each Levites had a place and a task, so do we. You are not pointless, Christ knows that you are worthy of his task and while I don’t know what your task is and I don’t know when our heavenly father will get you started. I know that I trust his judgement and I hope you trust in his commands and listen to them because you have a place in his plans of glory.
Day 056: Num 5-6
Fav verse:
‘May the LORD bless you and protect you. May the LORD smile on you and be gracious to you. May the LORD show you his favour and give you his peace.’- 6:24-26
Reflection:
A special blessing God wanted Aaron to speak over Israel and I pray our heavenly father gives you all what was spoken because he has the power and love to do them, but only you have the power and love for God to accept them. God is wanting to give you all of this as much as he did for the others. You are as special to him as this blessing is.
Your reflections:
What has been a verse this week that you felt was a personal message from God for your life?
What have you learnt about God that you could bring into next week’s reflections?
Many thanks for reading and and join me again next week!
