Day 057: Num 7
Fav verse:
‘The LORD said to Moses “Let one leader bring his gift each day for the dedication of the altar”’- 7:11
Reflection:
This is the longest chapter in numbers and you will notice that the gifts are exactly the same and yet not one complaint from the tribes. But isn’t’ that a great example of what our life should be like even if we are just repeating the same things day in day out. That we always show up for God with the same love we had on the most exciting days, for the most mundane, because we should see every day as a gift from him.
Day 058: Num 8-10
Fav verse:
‘Moses answered,”Wait here until I have received instructions for you from the LORD”.’- 9:8
Reflection:
It speaks a lot about Moses that when questioned or unsure he sought out God first. We should too, whether about a person or a situation no one has more power or knowledge on how to help us then God. His answer will always be for our best interest.
Day 059: Num 11-13
Fav verse:
‘Soon the people began to complain about their hardships, and the Lord heard everything’- 11:1
Reflection:
Our heavenly father is Just and wants to help us out of any hardship. But there is a difference between complaining about the situation and complaining about God in your situation. He gives us many chances and is so tolerant of our mistakes but complaining about God is equal to questioning his love for you and that shows an absence of faith and lack of confidence.
Day 060: Num 14-15 + Ps 90
Fav verse:
‘The LORD will abandon you because you have abandoned the LORD’- 14:43
Reflection:
God is truly equal, he gives to us what we give to him. We should thank Jesus that we get the chance to restart our relationship with Christ and be forgiven for the times we have sinned that even when we turn from him, he doesn’t turn from us. Give your life to God and he will give a godly life to you, have as much faith in him as he does for us.
Day 061: Num 16-17
Fav verse:
‘Meanwhile, Korah had stirred up the entire community against Moses and Aaron’- 16:19
Reflection:
It’s okay to be wary of those in leadership positions especially if they have abused their position before, but make sure you’re doing it with the right intention. Korah done it out of jealousy and bitterness and it did not end well. The bible says God appoints our leaders and you have to be careful that your disobedience to those leaders is not rebellion against God.
Day 062: Num 18-20
Fav verse:
‘But those who become defiled and do not purify themselves will be cut off from the community’ -19:20
Reflection:
The Lord gives us many chances to make ourselves right with him. He will give us instructions and ways to cleanse our sins and he always welcomes us back but we must be the ones to take action and put in the effort to maintain our relationship with him. It is no good asking God for blessings in your life, if every time he offers you his hand you do not take it.
Day 063: Num 21-22
Fav verse:
‘The LORD heard the Israelites request and gave them victory over the Canaanites’- 21:3
Reflection:
As simple as it was for the Israelites to look at the snake staff and be cured the same is for us. All we have to do is look to God’s sovereignty and realise that through obeying him all our battles will be won. After a few losses in battles Israel ended up calling to God and made a vow and he answered, they conquered their enemies. God is the most powerful weapon you will own.
