Day 113: 1Ch 1-2

                            Fav verse:

None stood out today😅

                            Reflection:

These chapters cover the genealogy of Israel. There isn’t much to cover in terms of reflection but it does show how each of them are important in building up to the King’s of Israel, the familt tree of Jesus and just how quickly God’s words can spread. I would definitely read it a few times to understand the remember, whose comes from which tribe. Also might be good to seek out pictures online and see if you can find any images of the family tree for easier reference.

Day 114: Psalm 43-45,49,84-85,87

                           Fav verse:

‘ Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again- my savior and my God.’ 43:5

                           Reflection:

God is our blessing. He is the goodness of the world and of life in one. He is all-powerful and has authority over everything but he is also a heavenly father. There are many references to God feeling emotions and we are created in his image. It is wonderful to acknowledge all the blessings and grace in your life and the happy emotions that come from them. It is also okay to accept that there are days when it’s hard to see these blessings or feel happy. But it is what we allow these days to do to our faith, that will make a difference. We can either use them as excuses to turn away or use them to realise just how much we need a saviour. Let God know how you are feeling and he will help you.

Day 115: 1Ch 3-5

                           Fav verse:

‘They cried out to God during the battle, and he answered their prayer because they trusted in him.’ 5:20

  Reflection:

Honour and blessings come to these tribes because of God not because of their skills or their size, it was never by their own work, but by the hand of God and he did this because they trusted in him. That’s why in every book there is always one story reminding you again and again; whether directly in a Psalms or stories like Job. That God gives back to those who trust in his name, not those who are loyal to the world. Thats why the tribes like Ruben, Gad and the half tribe of Manaseh lost their land because they were unfaithful. Being loyal and faithful is great to have in any relationship, especially when it comes to our heavenly father.

Day 116: Psalm 73,77-78

                          Fav verse:

‘He cared for them with a true heart and led them with skillful hands.’ 78:72

                          Reflection:

Just praying to God when you feel like it is never enough. He wants to see our trust in him and our obedience within our lives, many people think this means we must do amazing things like start a ministry to show God’s glory and our faith. God looks more to our hearts than our works, obedience is better than sacrifice. God wants to see your heart long to follow him and love living a life representing Jesus. Not just in your time of need. God is not our genie He is our father. Show him your trust by giving him your life wholeheartedly and watch how he cares for you.

Day 117: 1Ch 6

                          Fav verse:

‘They made atonement for Israel by doing everything that Moses, the servant of God commanded them’ 6:49

                           Reflection:

Commandments and regulations show up a lot in the bible. And it’s the one thing I noticed from this chapter that when it speaks of faithful servants to God it speaks of those that listened and followed. Although we cannot see the whole scope of what God is doing. We should find comfort in knowing that everything he makes us do Will bring ever lasting success. A life committed to God brings us more joy than we could ever find in our own plans.

Day 118: Psalm 81,88,92-93

                             Fav verse:

‘It is good to proclaim your unfailing. Love in the morning. Your faithfulness in the evening.’ 92:2

                             Reflection:

Do as God does for us! His throne is forever. Even if our days change and our view on life changes just like the seasons. Know God is always firm in his position He cannot be shaken. This is a personal test for me. I can’t say I’m in my happiest season in life. But I still read the Bible every day even if I have no notes to write and I still pray. I want to make more of an effort to speak of and remember all the good God has done but it can be hard to recognise his unfailing love in days like this but we just have to keep going because I trust in God that one day not just I but everyone around me will see god’s glory in theur life and these days of struggle will be worth it.

Day 119: 1Ch 7-10

                                  Fav verse:

‘So Saul died because he was unfaithful to the Lord. He failed to obey the Lord’s commands…’ 10:13

                              Reflection:

Fear of the Lord is a tough topic to discuss well. You need to balance between not too much fear pushing people away from a relationship with God, but not watering down his authority over life and earth. The best way I find to discuss fear of the Lord is to turn fear into respect. These chapters on genealogical records are a great way to start building up that respect. These are all people God created. And look at how many generations there were and he was there every day of their life, while some of us struggled to keep track of our own. God manages billions of people daily including their deaths. Like Saul and his dynasty, he did not respect God enough to remain obedient and didn’t fear the consequences of sin that Gods speaks of, to seek him out for forgiveness. That’s why Jesus deserves the greatest of our respect because due to him, we can live with more of God’s love than of fear. Our ability after his sacrifice to seek out forgiveness is much easier than what our ancestors did.

Your reflections:

Have you managed even in sad days to still give praise and thanks to God as it can be?

What have you learnt about God that you could bring into next week’s reflections?

Many thanks for reading and and join me again next week
